Throttle body spacers add volume to the intake manifold; increasing the amount of air that’s inhaled by your RAM’s 5.7 HEMI. Of course, more air equals stronger combustion and more power. Improving airflow into the intake manifold. Throttle body spacers act as a funnel of sorts, reorganizing and directing airflow into the engine.
40. Ram Year. 2010. Engine. Hemi 5.7. What id really like to know is if a newer engine is compatible. Reman would be a great option, but a little out of my price range. I can have my engine pulled and sent to engine shop and repaired for around $4000 CAD. I can find low km replacement engines for 2500 - 4000 CAD.
I never had "hemi tick" but the valvetrain has always been noisy compared to even my old 5.3 vortec which i understand is just how these engines sound. Mobil 1 fs 0w40 has definately quieted down the valvetrain noise. Once in a while at a drivethru id have a light hot idle tick. I only noticed at drivethrus because thats the only time it idles.
I would get a 2009 or newer, the Eagle update has better flowing heads, more power, and does not have the valve seat issue the early versions had. Granted both my 5.7s and 6.1 have been flawless, and are the pre 2009 update. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi.

1. Is that the design of the motor doesn't get enough oil to the lifters or the camshaft at or below ~1500rpm. 2. Is varnish buildup on the internals of the rollers, causing the bearings sticking to the race, seizing, and causing the failure. As such, it seems that the 5.7 would be better served (not trying to argue that there's a miracle oil
