Re: 2008 XR5 turbo crankshaft sensor location 2.5 Duratec the CKP is bolted to the back if the engine block (not head). See pic below (not sure why only half the pic is there but you can see the CKP at back of engine.

The CKP sensor is also an inductive pulse generator, like the CMP which scans 36 minus 1 cast protrusions on the flywheel. Minus one means that one of the protrusions is missing. This missing protrusion is located at 90Âş before top dead center and is used by the powertrain control module as a reference mark for the crankshaft position.

February 9, 2019 by Jason. The Ford Fusion utilizes a crankshaft position sensor in order to regulate the engine timing. This sensor uses a reluctor to gauge the position of the crank. When the Fusion’s ECM determines that there is an issue with the signal coming from this sensor, it’ll throw the P0335 trouble code.

2015 5.0 Crankshaft position sensor relearn. Hello everyone, this is my first post. I had the code for crankshaft position sensor, P0339. I am pretty sure I can physically replace the sensor myself, but I have read there is a relearn for this sensor. There are several threads that were started but none have a final answer. GAc6.
